Backgrounder: Jews for Jesus

Jews for Jesus is a global ministry whose priority is direct witness to the Jewish Community sharing the message of Jesus and the New Testament. Jews for Jesus “exists to make the messiahship of Jesus an unavoidable issue for Jewish people worldwide.”

Founded in 1973 by Moishe Rosen, Jews for Jesus has grown to be the largest evangelistic agency of its kind in the world. Jews for Jesus has branches in nine U.S. cities and 14 countries, including Israel, Canada, France and Russia.

Jews for Jesus uses creative communication to approach Jewish people with the message of Jesus the Messiah. Jews for Jesus has developed innovative ways to share the message of the Bible including:

  • Evangelistic literature – Jews for Jesus writes and illustrates hand-lettered pamphlets in a conversational tone. Each year, over 8 million of these “invitations to discuss the Gospel” are delivered. Additionally, Jews for Jesus publishes book written by Jews who have chosen to believe in Jesus.
  • Witnessing Campaigns – Each year, the Jews for Jesus staff conducts a concentrated campaign of sharing the news of Jesus in a major cities such as New York City, Toronto, Paris, London or Moscow and Tel Aviv.
  • Traditional and New Media – Jews for Jesus utilizes all media platforms to reach far and wide with the message of Jesus Christ. Their Facebook page has over 400,000 fans and they have 4500 followers on Twitter.
