Frequently Asked Questions

Why was this video created?

“That Jew Died for You” is a communications tool created to help redefine the conversation and reshape views of Jesus and His relationship to the Holocaust, presenting a positive image of hope and salvation instead of despair.

Why focus on the Holocaust to share the message of Jesus?

Many people wrongly associate the Holocaust with “Christian” perpetrators. Jews for Jesus wants the Jewish community to understand that the horrific sufferings inflicted by Hitler and the Nazis—especially on the Jewish people—are in no way based on the teachings of Jesus.

Why is Jesus at the gates of Auschwitz in the video, “That Jew Died for You”?

This video’s intent is to show that Jesus identifies with the sufferings of the Jewish people. Jews for Jesus believes that the God of Israel cared enough to send “that Jew”—Yeshua of Nazareth—to die willingly for the forgiveness of our sin, as the prophet Isaiah predicted.

Why use such a controversial topic as a communication tool?

Jews for Jesus believes that the Holocaust has been used – perhaps more than any other event or topic – to prevent Jewish people from considering the good news of Jesus. Challenging this misunderstanding must involve changing the focus of the conversation about Jesus and the Holocaust within the Jewish community.

Why release this video now?

April marks Passover, Holy Week, Easter and Holocaust Remembrance Day, which makes the messages of this video very important and timely.

Who are Jews for Jesus?

Jews for Jesus is a global ministry whose priority is direct witness to the Jewish Community sharing the messages of Jesus and the Bible. Jews for Jesus “exists to make the messiahship of Jesus an unavoidable issue for Jewish people worldwide.” More information can be found at
